About Amy Winehouse
Amy Jade Winehouse was born in North London, England on the 14th September 1983. Her first taste of the music industry was at the tender age of 10 when she started an amateur rap group called Sweet n Sour. Although this was short lived, Amy Winehouse was discovered and signed to the record label Island/Universal as a solo artist at the age of 16.
Her debut album, Frank (released in 2003) was nominated for the Mercury Prize and she won an Ivor Novello Award in 2004 for her debut single “Stronger than Me”. In 2006, she released her second album, Back to Black. On 14 February 2007, she won a BRIT Award for Best British Female Artist.
